01/03/22 - In preparation and listing soon are an Aster 'Spamcan' Bulleid pacific in BR lined green as 34059 'Sir Archibald Sinclair' and a factory-built Aster SR 21C166 'Spitfire' in SR malachite livery. Also another G1MC Britannia pacific - details to follow.

10/12/21 - Season's Greetings to all friends and customers as another difficult year draws to a close. Better news is that I have finally been able to list several new models for sale at last. Feast your eyes, as they say ;-)

2/11/21 - An interim update before several new listings coming in the next week or so. Newly arrived are an Aster/Accucraft BR9F 2-10-0 single chimney and high-sided tender kit-built by an experienced builder and in mint unused condition, an Aster BR44 2-10-0 in excellent condition and running order, an Aster SNCF 140-C 2-8-0 in black livery kit built in mint unused condition. Also a brand new boxed German 'Bathtub' bogie tender for the Aster Kriegslok or similar loco. A larger collection will follow these items containing many desirable locomotives!

2/10/21 - Awaiting testing and listing are a factory assembled Aster Bulleid 'Battle of Britain' Class 'Spitfire' in SR malachite livery. In VGC and complete with original box, manuals and shipping carton etc.; a G1MCO Britannia Class Pacific in excellent condition and likewise supplied in original boxes with manual etc and shipping carton. Also listing shortly is an LNER liveried ex-GCR 'Jersy Lily' Atlantic 4-4-0 in VGC. Built from the Cousins' kit to the Paul Forsyth design and painted and lined by Liz Marsden. More to come...

4/07/21 - At last a long overdue News update following an enforced hiatus caused by illness. Live steam models listing shortly will be a rare factory built Aster Rebuilt Merchant Navy pacific 'Clan Line' with original shipping carton plus all manuals etc (Now SOLD); a superb and truly immaculate Aster Bulleid pacific in BR lined green with the rare high-sided tender as 'West Country' 'Seaton' (now SOLD); a G1MC Standard Class 4MT tank loco in excellent running order (unlettered) (Now SOLD). Also on offer is a new-condition Derby Lightweight DMU built to high standard by Peter Rogers in 1:32 scale, complete with superb Fosworks DCC sound and remote control (Now SOLD).

28/04/21 - Newly listed is a Peppercorn K1 in early BR livery - in new unused condition. Thought to be built by Keith Cousins from his range of Paul Forsyth design kits. Also listing soon is a Barry Railway 0-8-0 tender loco built by JVR (John Van Riemsdijk). On the 16mm side is an open cab coal-fired 'Robert' from the DJB Engineering kit in plain black livery.

06/03/21 - Listing shortly will be a electric 1:32 Finescale/Sancheng LMS 'Black Five' in BR lined black livery. In immaculate, seldom-used condition and fitted with Peter Spoerer battery R/C and sound. Getting harder to find now, especially in this condition. Also available will be a set of five G1MC BR MK1 coaches including two BSK's in BR maroon livery. Boxed and in immaculate condition. (Note: These coaches are now SOLD)

23/01/21 - Apologies to all the many people who have contacted me recently regarding an update. The Covid-19 situation and current lockdown is making it difficult to restock at present, although there is plenty in the pipeline once restrictions ease. However we have still been busy in the background and a number of models have been shipped out in recent weeks. Still to be listed is the superb Barrett Eng GNR/LNER coal-fired Atlantic as soon as outdoor conditions allow for thorough track testing and photography (SOLD). On the 16mm NG front we are pleased to be able to offer another of the superb TME fully detailed Welshpool & Llanfair Beyer Peacock 'Countess' models, this time as 'The Earl'. In GWR green livery and never steamed since delivery, this amazing fully-featured model has a high specification and is probably as close to the 'real thing' as it is possible to reach in model form. 9/11/20 - Having a bit of a clear out - A range of brand new Accucraft G1 RCH 5-plank wagons offered at discounted prices - see listing. Also a brand new Accucraft 7/8" scale Bagnall 0-4-0ST in light green livery at discounted price - see the Narrow Gauge section. More to come - I also have some 16mm brand new W&L wagons to clear and will list soon. Back to 1:32 G1 we have a rather attractive set of five J&M coaches based on the LSWR versions finished in LMS lined maroon livery - an enterprising modeller might consider refinishing these in a different livery to match the superb new Accucraft Radial Tanks perhaps...

22/10/20 - New live-steam items listing shortly for NG fans are two brand new examples of the Accucraft Large Quarry Hunslet in 7/8" scale - one in black livery as 'Edward Sholto' and fully lined out in Penrhyn Livery by Matt Acton and the other in lined maroon. Both are from the second batch production, unused and boxed as new.

8/09/20 - New items about to be listed include a gas-fired live steam Accucraft 2-6-2 Prairie Tank loco in GWR green boxed as new, a Bowande gas-fired 14XX 0-4-2 tank loco in BR Black boxed with instructions etc. Items of rolling stock include a set of four Tower models/San Cheng Collett corridor coaches (SOLD) professionally finished in GWR lined chocolate and cream livery, four new Accucraft/G1MC tank wagons, various new Accucraft RCH 7-plank wagons etc.

12/08/20 - It 'aint half hot!! Despite the heat, I've been busy assembling the test kit-build of the forthcoming Aster/Accucraft LNER B1 'Mayflower'. It's a real cracker too -well worth the wait! Newly listed are the aster Winston Churchill and G1MC 4MT tank mentioned below. In preparation and coming soon are an Aster original Standard class 5MT in green livery and a beautiful Barrett Eng coal-fired LNER Atlantic... The price of the Barrett Eng coal-fired West Country pacific already listed has been reduced and to clear it any reasonable offer will be considered. Please note, this comment applies to this engine only!

8/07/20 - Just arrived an Aster factory assembled live-steam Battle of Britain pacific 'Winston Churchill' in little-used excellent condition and similarly a G1MC Standard Class 4MT tank 2-6-4. Both listing shortly after the usual comprehensive workshop and track tests, but please feel free to contact me now to register any interest.

3/07/20 - Well it's about time we had an update! Firstly I hope everyone is keeping well and safe out there. Quite a bit to mention here with two large collections being worked through at present. Some of these items will start appearing on the Sales list over the next few days with many more to follow in the coming weeks. For starters we have a beautiful LMS (ex-SDJR) 7F 2-8-0 built by master builder Martin Sheridan, a Tom Barratt built LBSC B4 4-4-0 in full Stroudley livery, a Barrett Engineering SR West Country Pacific coal-fired with three cylinders, an Aster Lion in L&M finish with a beautiful matching set of L&M coaches, an LMS/BR JInty radio controlled electric with matching push-pull coach, an immaculate set of John Loveday LMS Stanier Period Three corridor coaches including a 12-wheel diner... Also some 16mm Narrow Gauge items - a much sought after Roundhouse Vale of Rheidol Tank loco with full spec including radio control of regulator, reverser, cylinder drains and whistle in immaculate condition and finished in Brunswick Green livery. Also an immaculate R/C Roundhouse 'Lady Anne' in Brunswick green and fully lined out by Geoff Mundy of Lightlines...lots of new electric locos also now listed...

11/05/20 - I trust that everyone is safe and well out there. Despite the lockdown sales are continuing with several models shipped recently to their happy new owners! Several new items are in preparation and will be listed in the coming days, including a live-steam Barrett engineering GWR Manor Class 4-6-0 in BR lined green fitted with radio control. This engine is in excellent condition and has just been through my workshop for repairs and fitting of a new 2.4gHz radio control system. Expressions of interest are welcomed. Also coming up is a set of beautiful high-quality LMS coaches built by John Loveday including the 12-wheel diner - hard to find these days. Still to come is that Aster 'Big Boy' but that would not be an easy one to ship due to size and weight, so probably for collection once the current restrictions ease...

30/2/20 - During the Coronavirus/COVID-19 lockdown we will continue to take sales enquiries and ship models when possible and courier services are still operating. In the meantime I will be keeping busy with all those workshop tasks that I have been meaning to get around to for so long. Currently building an Aster GN S2 kit which has been languishing under my bench for many years! Please stay safe and well everyone.

27/1/20 - Time for an update! I am pleased to present an outstanding coal-fired model of the iconic LMS Garratt built by Barrett Engineering. A very rare example of just six such models known to have been produced. Also a very good example of the popular G1MC BR Britannia Class 7 finished as 70004 'William Shakespeare'. Just for a change I am also offering an Accucraft 16mm WLR 'Countess/Earl' in GW green livery in original box with all accessories and little used. As always there are lots more items in the pipeline coming soon, including an immaculate Accucraft gas-fired 'Prairie Tank' in GWR green livery...

19/12/19 - Just in time for Christmas! The aforementioned Lord Nelson and King Arthur models built by Graham Dixon are now listed on the website G1 Models for Sale with pictures, as is the excellent BR Stanier 8F built by Norfolk Loco Works. These are all superb and unique examples of the scratch-builder's art and the price levels obviously reflect this quality. May I also wish all my friends and customers Season's Greetings.

10/12/19 - Available shortly - The following live-steam spirit-fired locomotives in 10mm scale professionally built by Graham Dixon and all in fully lined BR green livery:- SR 'Lord Nelson' Class 4-6-0 , SR 'King Arthur' Class 4-6-0, SR 'Schools' Class 4-4-0 as new. Also available shortly will be an eight coach set of BR Mk1 coaches in BR maroon and B&C built by John Judson to a high standard, a set of six Bulleid coaches very well made from Alliott aluminium shells and finished in BR stock green, a set of Maunsell coaches also in BR stock green. 3/12/19 - Just arrived - a superb BR (ex-LMS) 8F 2-8-0 live-steam freight locomotive in 10mm scale from a small batch professionally built by Dave Tucker of Norfolk Loco Works. Hardly used and in immaculate as-new condition. Spirit fired, working walschaert's valve gear, detailed backhead, full rivet detail, working cylinder drains, wooden carry case etc. Pictures coming soon...

14/11/19 - Available shortly - a superb 'Black Five' finished in lined BR mixed traffic livery and built by renowned builder Graham Dixon in new condition and test run once or twice only, similarly a Graham Dixon built BR Britannia in excellent condition. Both live steam, spirit fired and 10mm scale. Top quality and outstanding engineering - Graham is retiring shortly, so these models represent an excellent investment. Details on request. 11/09/19 - Much activity behind the scenes, but these superb 10mm models coming up soon built by two of the finest scratch-builders of live steam! Firstly a Graham Dixon-built BR (ex LNER) A4 Pacific recently checked over and repainted in BR lined green by the builder; secondly a unique model of an LMS Fowler 0-8-0 'Austin Seven' built by David Brutnall (this model now SOLD). Pictures available of the latter engine and expressions of interest for both models are now invited...

30/05/19 - A major update to the sales list coming shortly including an Aster collection all live-steam mint unsteamed, comprising BR A4 Sir Nigel Gresley, BR 9F Evening Star, BR green Duchess of Montrose, BR blue Duchess of Atholl (kit-built by me), LNER Flying Scotsman, SR Schools. All the aforementioned are factory assembled except where indicated. Also listing a mint unsteamed G1MC BR Britannia, Aster BR black Standard Class 5MT, a Barrett Engineering factory built GWR Castle Class.

Castle Class 4-6-0 spirit -fired, a scratch-built live-steam unrebuilt 'Royal Scot' in LMS livery, a nicely finished 'Tilbury Tank' with additional fitted axle pump built to the Paul Forsyth design in LMS lined livery , a set of seven Collett GWR corridor coaches by Barrett Eng. to suit the aforementioned 'Castle' loco...

2/04/19 - I will have a table at the forthcoming G1MRA Spring Show at Shepshed on 13th April and will look forward to meeting friends and customers old and new on the day. There may well be a few surprises on offer too, so please be sure to pay us a visit!

28/03/19 - If it has appeared to be quiet of late it could be because the proprietor has been away celebrating various anniversaries etc.! However as usual there has still been a lot of activity in the background and therefore a timely reminder that not everything appears on the 'for sale' page as I am regularly able to place items with those regular customers and from the 'Wants List'. It's back to work again and I am pleased to say that several new models are currently in preparation. I will be updating the site and this page very soon with further details, but these are likely to include a collection of mint un-steamed Aster models, a superb rake of custom made Thomson corridor coaches in BR maroon (10mm) and a live steam BR Peppercorn A1 Pacific by Graham Dixon and lots more. In the meantime I have finished refurbishing the Aster BR Black 5MT and pictures are now available. For those customers interested in an original example featuring the lower profile tender then this one would ideally fit the bill!

29/01/19 - Just arrived a set of six LNER teak finish Gresley Suburban Coaches from the Kevin Almond KA Lasercraft kits. Beautifully finished with full interiors including some passenger figures. Also just arrived an immaculate Barratt Engineering Marsh Atlantic 4-4-0, coal fired boiler and finished in SR lined Maunsell green livery as St. Alban's Head. Pictures and listings soon...

21/01/19 - If things here have appeared quiet of late I can confirm that the New Year is now in full swing and several (unlisted) models have recently shipped out. Those live steam locos listing shortly include GWR Collett Goods #3205 built by Atlantic Engineering, Aster Standard Class 5MT 4-6-0, original issue in lined black livery kit-built by me, Aster Merchant Navy Pacific 'Clan Line', Aster SBB A 3/5 4 Cylinder 'Swiss Compound', GWR 2-8-0 28XX Class in GW green livery built by the late Tom Barratt. As always, any pre-owned locomotive sold by RBM will have been fully tested and serviced here by me and any repairs or adjustments necessary will be completed be before listing. More to come...

Expected shortly - Aster SR Malachite Green Bulleid Light Pacific 'Spitfire' with full radio control (SOLD), Aster SNCF type 140C #287 2-8-0 in black livery, Aster Standard Class 5MT 4-6-0, original issue in lined black livery, kit-built by me... The Aster/Accucraft BR 9F 2-10-0 currently on offer will now be finished with transfers and numbering - new pictures now available.

24/10/18 - Just arrived - a superb set of SECR Pullman Carriages built by master coach builder Peter Rogers. In authentic period maroon livery and beautifully finished, complete with internal lighting (SOLD). Also new is a venerable Aster Reno in need of a bit of TLC...

15/08/18 - New items just arrived include an excellent Barrett Eng. live-steam LMS 'Black Five' (factory built) now SOLD, a Tom Barratt live-steam LBSC B4 4-4-0 in Brighton livery now SOLD, a set of three very smart LMS Period 1 suburban coaches from David Bailey etches and painted and lined by Les Richards, a set of six GWR Collett corridor coaches by Barrett Eng. with full interiors, underframe details, individually sprung bogies axleboxes, etc. The Aster Rebuilt Merchant Navy Kit is now here and looking for a home - a full inventory has been carried out and several key components have been exchanged so this one is ready to go! now SOLD I also have an un-started original Aster BR Standard 5MT kit in BR green livery available now SOLD.

1/08/18 - In addition to the usual supply of quality second-user items I have a number of new Accucraft items in stock and available now, including the new Mk1 coach diagrams FK & SO in various liveries. Also stocks of the 'Victory' industrial gas-fired 0-6-0 locos in plain black (twin safety valves) and also in GW plain green with safety valve bonnet. Also available new the NG 7/8" scale Bagnall 0-4-0 in plain light green livery. Arriving shortly is an Aster Rebuilt Merchant Navy kit - believed to have to been started but little work done and otherwise complete.

22/04/18 - An excellent day at the G1 Show in Shepshed. The majority of items on the sales list are now sold, but needless to say there are many new ones on the way and will be listed shortly! These include two Aster Castle Class live steam locos - one in GWR livery and the other in BR livery. Also an Aster BR52 'Kriegslok', an Accucraft B4 dock shunter in late BR finish, a set of four professionally built Bulleid coaches in Southern malachite finish in new unused condition...

These include a new-build LNER (ex-GCR) 'Fish' engine 4-6-0 in lined LNER black livery built by Dave Brutnall (SOLD), an Aster BR A3 'Windsor Lad' with coal-fired boiler conversion by John Shawe, a coal-fired GNR Atlantic from the Barrett Engineering kit with added detail (SOLD), an Aster Bulleid 'West Country' with high-sided tender professionally repainted and lined by Alan Brakenborough in correct BR green livery (SOLD), an Aster black Std Class 5MT, Aster Bulleid West Country in BR green, Finescale Loco Co set of three LMS Postal vans (ex-LNWR) including one with nets boxed as new (SOLD). Electric battery R/C models include a Bachmann LMS 3F 'Jinty' (SOLD), a SDJR 7F 2-8-0 from the Alan Gibson kit, a Finescale Brass Black Five (SOLD), a Bachmann Class 03 diesel shunter. UK outline live-steam models include a Caledonian gas-fired 0-4-0T based on the 'ARMIG' design , a beautiful M&GN Class 'C' 4-4-0 No.1 with three matching teak finish coaches. Electric models include an expertly weathered Bachmann/San Cheng LMS 'Jinty' just ripe for a battery/RC conversion. Also a good selection of passenger & goods rolling stock just arrived...

4/3/16 - Newly arrived are a Finescale Brass 1:32 2-rail electric 'Black Five in immaculate boxed condition and skillfully weathered and finished in early BR lined black livery; a Cherry Models Midland 4-4-0 2-rail electric loco in lined maroon livery, 10mm scale and excellent unmarked condition. Both obvious candidates for battery/radio control conversion. Arriving shortly is a live steam Aster BoB 'Winston Churchill' in BR lined green, kit built by me and little used (SOLD).

In the workshop - just completing an Aster Standard 5MT kit for a customer who also drives the real thing! Through his good offices I tried my hand on the shovel of the 12" to the foot 5MT - a great thrill of course but I decided that the full size NG engines that I regularly drive and fire are more suited to my capabilities! Also awaiting attention in the workshop is an Aster A4 'Silver Link' which will be offered for sale in due course.

21/2/16 - The RB243 Aster BR A3 'Flying Scotsman' has now been fully completed and tested and pictures are available - see the listing on the Models for Sale page. Also now listed is the 'Project' 0-6-0 in BR livery. Awaiting testing is an LMS 'Tilbury Tank' 4-4-0T and an LMS Johnson 4-4-0T in plain black livery. Just arrived and waiting photographs and listing is a brand new, never steamed Aster LNER Flying Scotsman 4472, still mint in the box...

1/2/16 - February already -where does the time go? Newly arrived and listed is a well finished LMS Hughes 'Dreadnought 4-6-0 built by Graham Dixon (SOLD). Also listed is a superb LNER D20 4-4-0, again by Graham Dixon. Listing shortly is an LMS 'Project' 0-6-0; well built and an ideal affordable starter loco in G1. More used models on the way... Taking several orders now for forthcoming new Accucraft models including the Black Fives and A4 Pacifics. Also taking orders for the re-run of the BR Mk1 coaches from the former G1MC range, including two new diagrams - see the Accucraft website for more details.

27/11/15 - Time for an update - some new items on the list include an un-started kit for an Aster Blue Duchess, an Aster BR A3 in BR lined green, a superb set of Tower Brass BR Mk1's in lined maroon livery and fitted with Kadee couplers, a Tom Barratt-built Pennsy D16sb 4-4-0 and more to come. 13/06/15 - New G1 items now listed. New 16mm NG and Miscellaneous categories added - 16mm items are all in excellent condition and pictures can be supplied on request, although most are standard commercial products with images readily available. Many new G1 items still to be added, including several USA outline models including an Aster NYC live steam Hudson and rolling stock...

26/03/15 - Newly arrived and in preparation - Aster Pannier Tank; the rarer GW version with 'Great Western' lettering on the tank sides and fitted with Rectus water filling adapter and bottle. Also a SECR 'C' Class 0-6-0 to the Paul Forsyth design - single cylinder with axle pump and beautifully finished in full SECR livery - also a set of twelve US bogie hopper cars (probably MDC, but with metal sprung bogies and metal wheels)...

19/08/14 - In the workshop - The first of a series of Aster Rebuilt Merchant Navy Pacifics 35025 'Brocklebank Line' has now been successfully completed from the kit and steam and track tested. It is promising to be an excellent track performer with a very distinctive 3-cylinder beat! (Click here to view my video of the first test run ) Quite a challenging kit to build, but the end result is well worth the time spent. If you are considering one of these models please contact me for a quote if you would prefer the kit to be built up for you.

25/07/14 - New items to be listed in due course include an Aster BR green A3 Pacific 'Blair Atholl'. Kit built by notable builder with original kit box and manuals, never steamed. Can be quickly reverted to Flying Scotsman identity if preferred. SOLD Also a delightful Aster LMS 'Jumbo' with coal fired boiler by John Shawe - probably unique! SOLD MR 'Tilbury Tank' built by Paul Forsyth in excellent condition. Aster 'Schools' factory built in original box never touched - a rare find in this pristine mint condition. More to come...

In the workshop - The first batch of Aster 'Merchant Navy' kits have just arrived which should keep me busy and out of trouble in the coming months!

07/07/14 - Several new models waiting to be fully listed now when time permits. Latest arrivals in addition to those mentioned below include an interesting G1MC Britannia which has been subject to a gas-firing conversion and radio control. Also recently arrived are a San Cheng 45XX 'Small Prairie' in early BR lined green with full battery R/C (Spectrum) including soundcard. Expected shortly is a San Cheng/Bachmann Pannier with similar specs to the Prairie. Coming soon is a Bowande 'Black Five' in new condition. Oh yes, and in answer to several enquiries the Aster 241P compound pictured on the home page and slideshow is not for sale - after an extremely complex and lengthy build it is there to illustrate why the sales list has not been updated in timely manner!

17/06/14 - A good day at Shepshed on Saturday, meeting friends old and new. Several new items have arrived which will be listed during the course of the next few days. These include a Finescale Brass/San Cheng 14XX 0-4-2 electric in BR lined green together with a Finescale/Sancheng GW autocoach in BR crimson & cream livery. Also from the same stable a two coach 'B' set in BR lined maroon. These items are in mint boxed condition. A Finescale Brass/San Cheng 4MT tank fitted with Revolution RC and soundcard and finished in late BR lined black livery lightly weathered, transmitter included. An Aster LMS Jumbo arranged for gas firing by John Shawe plus a matching set of three ex-LNWR suburban coaches in LMS maroon livery built by David Walker of Cromford Designs. An Aster 'Titfield Thunderbolt' with boiler cladding painted, fitted pressure gauge and Enots style filling valve in tender. More to come...

21/05/14 - In the workshop - currently constructing an Aster SNCF 241P Compound for a client. A lengthy and complex build, but a very impressive design! Coming soon - now accepting commissions to construct the forthcoming Aster Merchant Navy Pacific kits. As I now have several to construct, please contact me for a quotation and timescales. Quality G1 items urgently sought for commission sales or purchase. Many new sale items on the way which will be displayed at the G1MRA meeting below, including further Finescale Brass locomotives and rolling stock.

27/03/14 - Newly arrived - GCR Robinson 4-6-0 'Immingham' built by G1 master craftsman Dave Brutnall (see picture on home page). A unique opportunity to acquire one of these outstanding models. Expressions of interest now invited. Also arrived a further example of the Aster USRA Mikado, this time in the Southern Railroad green livery. Factory assembled and complete with original box and manuals.

In the workshops - this freshly out-shopped Union Pacific Challenger was built by me from the Aster kit for a customer.
